Christmas Decorations

Christmas decorations create an inviting environment that makes residents, visitors and customers feel at home. They radiate warmth, comfort, and festive cheer; encouraging everyone to stay longer, explore more, and ultimately, make more purchases.

In today’s fiercely competitive retail landscape, standing out is essential. Christmas decorations can be a significant differentiator. They become a talking point among shoppers, perhaps even encouraging them to choose Yackandandah over other locations for their Christmas purchases.

However, the benefits of a well decorated town extend beyond the retail benefits.  The simple presence of Christmas decorations is an affirmation of joy and celebration and can have a significant impact of mental well-being whether you celebrate Christmas for religious, cultural, or social reasons.

This project includes the purchase of additional 300mm UV stabilised Christmas baubles (to add to our existing decorations). This will enable the decoration of 15 - 20 trees in High Street, to be spaced out evenly along High Street between Wellsford and William Streets. We will also consult with YCDCo and traders at Yack Station about placing some baubles in that shopping precinct.

 The Chamber acknowledges that more can be done to enhance Christmas decorations within Yackandandah, however we see this as a first step and one that can be put in place for December 2024.
